A night of relaxation

Spent the night working on some more copper wire pendants. I have to say it's probably one of the most relaxing things to do, especially after a long, busy, and fairly stressful week.

Things have been a bit chaotic between work and my family this past week. Naturally, I decided to channel this chaos into something productive (and hopefully beautiful lol).

I'm playing around with more hammered copper and color wrapping. I absolutely love how things are coming together. What do you think so far?

I'm looking into more craft fairs and festivals this year, too. I'm always willing to discuss custom orders, too! If you're interested in any of my jewelry (or paper sculptures) you can reach me at www.facebook.com/NicoleCDesigns or at NicoleCDesigns@yahoo.com :)

Well hello again

Wow it sure has been a long time since I've posted anything here. I've made quite a few changes over the past year. I've improved and expanded upon my jewelry collection. I've created some paper sculptures that I'm really proud of, too.

On top of all that I've also redesigned my craft sale set up. I unveiled the new look at Holidays by Hand Fine Arts and Craft Festival in Bemidji Mn on December 1, 2012.

I have more photos posted on my Facebook page www.facebook.com/NicoleCDesigns

If you'd like to see more please check out my page. If any of it catches your eye e-mail me, comment on a photo, or message me to see about purchasing.

I'll have more to show you soon. Hope to hear from you :)

Progress

Hello all!

Hope things are going well for you. Things are going well for me! The Holidays by Hand festival was a lot of fun and taught me a lot. That was just the first of many festivals I plan on being in in the future, as well as revisiting the Holidays by Hand festival next year. My booth space is going to be redesigned and expanded soon so I can include more items for sale.

In other news, I have the start of my new website online. The photo galleries should be finished within a week. If there is anything of mine you are interested in, contact me and we can arrange a sale. Plus I will be expanding my inventory soon to include earring, more bracelets, and more necklace styles.

Thanks again for your interest and support! Hope to see you at an art sale some time!

Missing in Action?

Hello everyone. It's been a while hasn't it? Makes me wish I had some great story about saving the world, working for some obscure government agency, or even being abducted by aliens. Then I would have a good excuse for having been missing for so long. Unfortunately, I don't have a story. Life and other responsibilities just got in the way, as it tends to.

I will be selling my wire trees for hanging jewelry or decorations at the Holidays by Hand festival on December 3rd. Any that are left over will be available online but I will not be able to make more until the weather warms up again. I will also be selling enameled copper necklaces on December 3rd. As of right now I only have a limited collection of jewelry available, but I will be expanding soon.

I have also been having some problems with my website, including a hardware failure on my computer. I am in the process of exploring better software and should have the website operational within the next month or so.

Again, thanks for all the support and you'll be hearing from me again soon. (Lucky you, right!?)

New Projects

Hello again. It's been a while. Things have been pretty busy around here. I graduated with a B.A. in Visual Art and a B.S. in Psychology last week and I have been in the process of moving and starting a new job.

I've also begun work on some new sculptures. I am working on a collection of small wire trees, table top height for now. I started working on them for a friend, but their so fun to make I will probably start making them to sell. The original intent is for jewelry displays, but they can be used as centerpieces or displays for whatever your interested in hanging off the branches.

I have also repaired my jewelry kiln. I just need to purchase some enamels and I can start making and selling my jewelry. This should hopefully be taking place within the next month.

Can't wait to see how this all goes!

News

Well here we are again. Not much has been going on lately. I'm in the process of finishing some last minute school work before graduation, while packing so I can move again. That means not much art stuff going on, unfortunately.

I did learn some exciting news, however. I learned that I have been accepted in the Bemidji Sculpture Walk this year. My sculpture (the welded flower I told you about before) will be installed some time on May 20, 2011. I'm not sure where it will be located yet, but I'm pretty darn excited. It will be up for a year so if you are in the Bemidji area some time within the next year be sure to check it out and tell me what you think.

On to the next step

My exhibit in the Ramsey gallery is up and running. The opening reception went well. I'm feeling pretty good about it, too. If you are in the Bemidji, MN area I recommend checking it out and letting me know what you think either here or in my guest book. I will get pictures uploaded for those who cannot make it, though.

But now that this is done and I (almost) have free time, what is the next step?

I'm back to working on some smaller scale plaster sculptures, just for fun. What I'm really excited about working on is my copper jewelry. I will be selling earrings and necklaces as soon as I get enough made. I'm also planning ahead for some fine art and craft fairs I'm going to be entering. The one I'm looking forward to the most is Holidays By Hand in December. I know it's a ways away, but there will be some amazing talent and wonderful people there.

I'm also keeping an eye out for various shows that I can enter my sculptures in. I'm also waiting to hear from the Bemidji Sculpture Walk to find out if my welded flower is going to be accepted.

Looks like I've got a lot going on again, but that's okay, I'm doing what I love :)
